24/09/2026

Recently, the American International Hospital (AIH), in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City 115 Emergency Center, officially put the Satellite 115 Emergency Station at AIH into operation. The initiative contributes to strengthening the city's emergency care network, improving access to emergency medical services, and enhancing the capacity to provide timely emergency care to the public, particularly in critical situations such as accidents and strokes.

Expanding the Emergency Care Network in Ho Chi Minh City

In preparation for the launch of the Satellite 115 Emergency Station, the American International Hospital (AIH) proactively and urgently completed the necessary human resources, vehicles, medical equipment, and connectivity systems to ensure readiness to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City 115 Emergency Center in out-of-hospital medical emergencies. AIH's official participation in the city's 115 Emergency Care Network also reflects its role and responsibility in supporting the healthcare sector, with the aim of ensuring patient safety and improving the effectiveness of healthcare for the community.

Specifically, the Satellite 115 Emergency Station at AIH is equipped with a specialized ambulance, along with the necessary emergency medical supplies, medications, and equipment for out-of-hospital emergency care, including a resuscitation kit, pediatric emergency kit, trauma kit, and IV fluid kit. These resources enable the station to respond to and manage a range of out-of-hospital emergency situations.

A team of qualified and experienced emergency and critical care personnel is on duty 24/7, ready to receive and manage emergency cases. Standardized emergency procedures and clinical protocols are in place to ensure timely, safe, and effective care for patients.

In out-of-hospital emergency care, the time required to reach a patient and initiate initial treatment is critical to patient safety and prognosis. Therefore, in addition to a centralized system for receiving and dispatching emergency calls, strategically located satellite emergency stations help optimize the allocation of healthcare resources across the network.

As a satellite station within Ho Chi Minh City's 115 Emergency Care Network, the AIH Satellite Emergency Station provides additional personnel, vehicles, and medical equipment, creating an additional resource to support out-of-hospital medical emergencies.

Located in the Binh Trung Ward area (formerly District 2), the station helps expand the coverage of the 115 emergency network in eastern Ho Chi Minh City, connecting An Phu, Binh An, Binh Khanh, Thanh My Loi, Cat Lai, Thu Thiem, and surrounding areas. This additional emergency resource is particularly significant in cases of stroke, accidents, trauma, or other life-threatening medical conditions where patients require early medical intervention.

MSc. MD Nguyễn Hồng Trung, Medical Director of the American International Hospital (AIH), shared: "Joining the 115 Emergency Care Network marks an important step forward for AIH in expanding our emergency care services and supporting the city's healthcare system. With our specialized emergency and critical care capabilities, advanced medical equipment, and standardized Code Red, Code Blue, and emergency response procedures that are regularly trained and implemented, AIH is ready to respond to emergency situations involving both adults and children.”

Comprehensive Treatment Capabilities Following Emergency Care

As a JCI-accredited international general hospital, the American International Hospital (AIH) not only provides initial emergency assessment and management but is also capable of continuing to evaluate, diagnose, and provide interventions for patients during the acute phase of illness. Patient care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team of specialists, supported by laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, and advanced paraclinical facilities to help determine an appropriate management plan based on each patient's condition and individual needs.

AIH’s team of specialist physicians works together to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment immediately upon receiving the patient.

Continuing treatment at the same healthcare facility helps minimize the need for hospital transfers, particularly in cases requiring close monitoring or specialized interventions. Through this approach, the Satellite 115 Emergency Station at AIH not only helps improve access to emergency care for people in the surrounding area but also enables patients to continue receiving care at AIH when medically indicated. This contributes to ensuring timely medical support for local residents and the international community living and working in Ho Chi Minh City.

When emergency assistance is required in Binh Trung Ward (formerly District 2) or surrounding areas, residents can call the 115 Emergency Hotline or AIH's *1155 hotline to provide information and receive emergency dispatch assistance.
